Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our TICA registered Ragdolls, from health protocols to the adoption journey.
Adoption Process
How long is the application process?
Our application review typically takes 3-5 business days. We prioritize finding the perfect match between our kittens and their future families to ensure a lifetime of happiness.
Is there a deposit required to join the list?
Yes, a non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your spot on our waiting list. This deposit will be applied in full toward the final adoption cost of your selected kitten. A $500 deposit is collected when the kitten reaches 4 weeks of age.
Health & Care
Are your breeding cats DNA tested?
Absolutely. All our queens and kings undergo comprehensive genetic testing for HCM and PKD1. We strictly provide clear health ancestral records for all our registered litters.
What health support do you provide post-adoption?
We offer a two-year genetic health guarantee for all kittens. Furthermore, we provide lifelong breeder support to assist you with any questions regarding nutritional or behavioral care.
Visiting & Communication
Can we visit the kittens before adoption?
To protect the underdeveloped immune systems of our litters, we do not allow physical visits to the nursery. We host scheduled virtual nursery visits and provide high-definition photo updates.
How will I receive updates on my kitten?
We maintain a shared digital album for each litter, which is updated weekly with fresh photos and videos of developmental milestones until your kitten is ready to go home.
Do Ragdoll kittens require a lot of grooming?
Ragdolls have a semi-long, silky coat that lacks a dense undercoat, making them less prone to matting. A gentle weekly brushing is usually enough to keep their fur in top condition and bonding time enjoyable.
How do they get along with children and other pets?
Ragdolls are famous for their docile, 'puppy-like' temperament. They are exceptionally patient and affectionate, making them ideal companions for households with active children and other pets.
What is included with a Silk Whiskers kitten?
Every kitten departs microchipped, spayed or neutered, and fully vaccinated for their age. They also come with a health guarantee, TICA registration papers, and a starter pack to help them settle in comfortably.
How long is the average waiting list?
Wait times vary depending on our queens' cycles and litter sizes. Generally, you can expect to wait between 3 to 6 months. We encourage joining our waiting list early to secure your preferred color or pattern.
